We are looking for a diligent full-time, in-house Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our growing business.
In this role you will be processing weekly or biweekly payroll for up to six entities within our growing family of companies.
This position requires the ability to work with a large variety of confidential information and material.
Responsibilities include working with multiple departments on inputs to payroll, employee onboarding and benefits management.
You will be responsible for all aspects affecting employee pay statements, reporting and records management.
In your role you will serve as a resource for issues relating to payroll, payroll software and a reference point for all employee payroll inquiries.
You will also be assisting the Director of Finance as needed and respond to information requests by management to provide important value-added data for decision making.
This is not a treadmill and you will not be a cog in the machine.
Your input and ideas will be valued and appreciated.
We use “isolved” Payroll Platform and take advantage of their Time and Attendance technology enabling us to more effectively collect, manage and process employee time and attendance data.
To be successful as a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you should have strong organizational and analytical qualities with the proven ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
Strengths should include attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
*Responsibilities:*
* Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
* Serve as contact for related inquiries.
* Manage withholding of taxes, benefits and garnishments.
* Reconcile monthly insurance billings and assure timely payment.
* Guide new hires with completing applicable paperwork.
* Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government requirements.
* Performing monthly reconciliations.
* Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
* Responding to information requests.
* Assisting the Director of Finance as needed.
*Requirements:*
* Associate degree in accounting or human resources required or equivalent experience.
* 1+ years of full cycle payroll experience.
* Ability to work with a large variety of confidential information.
* Communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail.
* Good problem-solving and time management skills.
* Highly organized and detail oriented.
