Senior Accountant
Position Summary
As a member of the accounting department, the Senior Accountant position is an integral component of Access’ dedication to stewardship in its mission of improving the health and lives of its patients.
The Senior Accountant creates and improves processes, prepares financial reports, provides accurate and timely work, and strengthens internal controls by applying independent judgment and initiative with minimal oversight.
Primary areas of responsibilities include general accounting, month-end and year-end closing activities, financial statements and other financial reporting, audit preparation, and analysis of various accounting and financial data.
This position also assists with accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, and 340B pharmacy.
This role maintains strict confidentiality and uses discretion regarding sensitive information.
Desired candidate would have the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business related field with 3-5 years relevant work experience
Experience using general ledger software
Proficient with MS Office applications, including Excel and Word, as well as electronic mail and internet applications.
Knowledge of the concepts of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Extensive experience with computer systems, spreadsheets, or database applications; data flow, report creation and interpretation required
Experience manipulating and understanding complex data
Experience analyzing and solving complex issues and problems
Experience working independently, making sound decisions, and prioritizing workloads to complete projects
Other Relevant Qualifications:
CPA licensure or other professional accounting certification
Experience in the not-for-profit industry
Knowledgeable of auditing standards and federal compliance requirements
