Job Title: Accounting Intern
Reports To: AVP, Finance and Reporting
Under close supervision, the Accounting Intern will develop technical skills and learn operational procedures and business practices.
You will have the opportunity to work within a functional area to receive experience related to a degreed educational program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile supporting documentation to support auditor requests.
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
In addition, the incumbent must be organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently.
Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for insurance subsidiaries.
Assist with data submission to various state agencies and other interested parties.
Prepare daily and/or monthly journal entries.
Perform account and systems reconciliations.
Assist with testing and documentation related to information system implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be pursuing a four-year degree program and may be receiving credits for internship toward graduation requirements.
Requires a desire to enter the Accounting field, demonstrated by enrollment in an applicable degree program.
Must be able to work an average of 30 hours per week.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without Employer Sponsorship.
