Job Description Summary: We are recruiting for an energetic and growth-minded Senior Cost Accountant to support our Inventory team, based in Madison, WI.
The candidate we are looking for should have excellent organizational and analytical skills, be detailed-oriented, possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to comfortably work under pressure to deliver on tight deadlines.

The Senior Cost Accountant will work directly with the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, and Finance business teams to ensure accurate and proper costing of inventory as well as perform financial and operational analyses, to drive supportable decisions and results, in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
The Senior Cost Accountant will support the Company’s internal and external audits, SOX program, and SEC reporting requirements that come with working for a public company.
Key Responsibilities: * Run various financial reports required for month/quarter/year-end close.
* Prepare and enter journal entries relating to inventory and cost of goods sold.
* Prepare monthly account reconciliations, with supporting documentation.
* Work with various departments to gather information to support the close process.
* Review new standard costs and activation of costs in foreign entities.
* Assist the Plant Controller with variance analysis related to capitalized variances.
* Ownership of perpetual inventory for multiple entities * Assist with research on general inventory questions.
* Analyze and assist with the quarterly DHL to SAP reconciliation.
* Maintain relationships with various business partners.
* Preparation of required SOX and audit schedules.
* Maintain document controls, processes and procedures needed to ensure SOX compliance.
* Assist with and ensure successful internal and external audits.
* Ensure process integrity within manufacturing inventory and intercompany inventory, while working with cross-functional peers to resolve process issues.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Minimum 2+ years experience as a staff accountant or cost accountant.
* Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, sum-ifs, etc.
) and other MS Office product knowledge.
* Strong accounting knowledge, with a track record of being detail-oriented.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate findings into relevant, actionable processes and recommendations.
* Strong organizational, planning, and tactical execution abilities * Team player with proven ability to work in a collaborative and growing environment.
* Highly committed, results-oriented self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership for driving assignments to closure.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Confident and comfortable interacting with cross-functional business teams and leadership.
