Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Controller-Retail , the Staff Accountant will monitor and reconcile up to 10 corporate bank accounts.
The Staff Accountant also maintains compliance with business licenses and annual reporting in nearly all states for over 120 locations.
This position will support the accounting needs Johnson Fitness & Wellness stores, and the JHT Trading Inc.
channels – Independent Dealer, After Market Parts Sales, Sporting Goods and eCommerce.
This is a non-supervisory role.
Responsibilities:
Accounting:
· Reconcile and process transactions that are complex in nature.
· Monitor all banking activities in order to detect irregularities or fraud.
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports for cash accounts for month end review.
· Maintain business license and annual report compliance for 120+ locations.
· Assist with preparation of personal property tax returns.
· Development and entry of monthly journal entries
· Reconciliation and maintenance of assigned general ledger accounts.
· Monthly reporting, other projects and analysis as assigned.
Support Functions:
· Provide information and assist with quarterly reviews and year end audit
· Assist with monthly financial reporting package
· Establish and work to accomplish all personal and departmental KPIs.
· Assist others in the department when workload allows.

Requirements:
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
Experience
· Minimum of 1 year in prior accounting, finance and/or audit related experience
· Experience with SAP a plus
Other Requirements:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, V-lookup, Macros, etc.
)
· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
· Analytical skills to understand business drivers that link operational performance to financial results
· Problem solving and investigative skills
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
