Core Duties:
* Prepare and post journal entries
* Perform monthly, quarterly and year end closings
* Prepare account reconciliations ensuring appropriate documentation, identifying variances, reconciling balances, and updating descriptions
* Prepare financial reports and assist in financial statement preparation
* Ensure financial compliance with policies and procedures, audit and accounting disclosure requirements, and applicable legal rules and regulations
* Prepares simple and moderate tax returns for entities and individuals with minimal review note feedback and in accordance with the firm's process and procedures.
* Reviews simple and moderte individual income tax returns with minimal review note feedback and in accordance with the firm's process and procedures.
* Participates/leads with a team on engagements or projects of various clients.
* Performs client work assigned by management in accordance with the firm's process and procedures.
* Establishes quality client relationships and loyalty.
* Assists with federal, state and local payroll tax preparation.
* Prepares tax planning and estimates as applicable; becomes involved in planning for more complex clients.
* Expand knowledge through exposure to peers, internal experts, clients, regular self-study, and training opportunities.
* Complete tax related research and special projects as needed.
* Identifies and communicates tax matters to supervisors, managers and partners.
* Identifies opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
* Provides excellent client service with timely communication.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Accounting or Associate's Degree with equivalent work experience required
* 3+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, must be able to acclimate to new software
* Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
* Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools
* Strong customer service skills.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Lacerte experience preferred.
* Knowledge of current federal and state tax laws.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience with corporate, partnership and individual taxation.
* Experience managing multiple client engagements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Certificates and Licenses:
* EA/CPA Preferred
