Job Summary:
The School of Nursing is seeking an Accountant I to join our team in Administrative Affairs.
The Accountant I will perform general accounting duties following generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting, and ensure the accurate recording and reporting of the School of Nursing's financial transactions.
This position will report directly to the School of Nursing's Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs.

Prepares financial reports and assists with budgeting.
Ensures the accurate recording and reporting of the business unit's financial transactions.
25% Organizes, prepares, and updates basic financial statements, monthly and year-end journal entries, accounts, ledgers, and reports for various financial needs within an automated financial system to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions 10% Prepares and analyzes financial data, reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, recommends, and implements basic solutions as needed 10% Assists with accounting and reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and reports 25% Answers questions and provides accounting related information to internal and external stakeholders according to established policies and procedures 5% Assists in preparing budgets and financial projections 25% Prepares and/or approves financial transactions and payments Tasks: Provide support for the processing of payments including invoices, requisitions, direct payments, and payments to individuals, serving as second tier approver Process e-reimbursements, serving as second level approver Serve as a purchasing card site manager, reviewing transactions for accuracy and funding.
Also serve as a purchasing card holder for Administrative Affairs Provide procurement guidance, support, and approval Communicate and clarify policies and rules for purchasing, accounting, travel, payments for services, payments to individuals, employee/employer relationships, academic support services, etc.

Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $39,400 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The expected salary for this position starts at a rate of $39,400.
Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
