Job Summary
This Senior Accountant position is responsible for performing specialized and general accounting functions and financial reporting analysis for the North America Shared Services accounting department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Timely completion of assigned duties and deliverables according to set monthly and quarterly close deadlines as set forth in month-end close schedules.
Accurate and timely reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
This includes, but is not limited to, researching aged postings, ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and in compliance with company policies, and overall analysis of assigned accounts for completeness and accuracy.
Preparation of quarterly and year-end reporting packages.
Preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules.
Accounting for contracts.
Collaboration with management on accounting issues.
Design, modify, and/or maintain process and procedure documentation.
Knowledge and awareness of internal controls related to assigned duties and execution of these established internal controls.
Assist in the development of policies, systems, special financial studies of major importance.
All other duties/ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience is required
4 – 6 years accounting experience
Required Skills
Knowledge of SAP system is a plus.
Broad working knowledge of US GAAP.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to close out issues.
Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills.
Consistent performance and practices ethical, professional behavior.
Works well independently and can work cooperatively with team members.
Strong communication skills.
