Job Description The primary role of the Cost Accountant position is to support cost accounting initiatives for Link Snacks at two of our facilities; New Glarus, Wisconsin and Mankato, Minnesota.
We are open to candidates who would use either facility as their home office and would look for a willingness to travel 10-20% of the time (typically to the other location).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize SAP to perform process order variance analysis Assist Controller with YTG forecasting and annual budgeting processes Perform time studies to accurately understand labor utilization Submit annual bill of material and recipe (labor) updates Assist in annual standard cost roll process Roll and review standard costs for new and materially changed materials throughout the year Perform variance analysis to help sites better understand conversion cost (labor & overhead) and material usage performance Assist with cost estimations for brand new items and new configurations as requested Use SAP to perform and manage cycle count processes to maintain accurate inventories; making necessary inventory adjustments Work with Continuous Improvement team to calculate and track cost savings initiatives Calculate and process period end close journal entries and accruals Various other period-end close tasks and reporting Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Two year (minimum) to four year degree in accounting/finance or similar discipline Advanced level computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel 2+ years of cost accounting experience Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry Previous experience with ERP software systems (especially SAP) REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in a demanding environment with multiple projects and deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously Superior accuracy and attention to detail Additional Information Additional information PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to be successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
