A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACCOUNTING / PURCHASING ASSISTANT
As an Accounting / Purchasing Assistant, you assist our accounting and purchasing departments with all of the bookkeeping and administrative work that goes into running our business.
You play a critical part in the flow of accurate information throughout our company, ensuring that we know what materials are being received, what work is being completed, and what is being billed for.
We rely on the information that you enter and the resulting reports to be correct.
Much of your time is spent at the computer performing data entry.
You are the gatekeeper of details! No figure, no matter how small, gets by you without being checked, double checked, and recorded in the right place.
Your primary responsibilities are reconciling vendor statements, posting invoices to the general ledger, and generating purchase orders.
You get to assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
To you, spreadsheets and ledgers are wonderful things, especially when filled with accurate data! You generate reports and competently attend to other inventory and bookkeeping tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTING / PURCHASING ASSISTANT
2-5 years of prior accounting, bookkeeping, or purchasing experience
Exceptional attention to detail while performing data entry
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
Math skills required for accurate bookkeeping involving accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred! Are you self-motivated and able to work independently? Can you keep track of multiple tasks at a time, operating under tight deadlines? Do you have good communication skills, both written and verbal? If so, you might just be perfect for this accounts receivable/accounts payable bookkeeping position!
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, Monday - Friday position, normally working 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
