Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, while monitoring the company’s financial health.
They ensure that budget, tax compliance, financial statements, and other related items remain efficient and accurate.
The controller is involved in the day-to-day business operations and analytics for the department.
This position has 2 direct reports and is the liaison for co-packing functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee General Accounting Functions
Accounts Receivable and Account Payable
Account reconciliation (Bank / General Ledger / Credit cards)
Bank Deposits
General ledger entries and analysis
Create trial balance and financial statements
File and monitor tax reporting
Oversee payroll
Establish budgets as needed
Manage Cash Flow
Monitor payments to vendors
Manage line of credit and bank loans
Create weekly cash flow report
Develop cash management improvements
Financial Management
Create and analyze financial statements
Oversee insurance issues as needed
Interface with CPA
Entering of purchase orders, change orders into accounting software
Issuance, monitoring and reconciliation of company credit card accounts
Review financial statements for accuracy and clarity
Analyze & interpret financial and operational performance
Business Performance & Operations
Manage co-packing business logistics and procurement
Ensure timely execution of production planning and forecasting
Analyze business performance, working with sales and marketing on performance metrics and KPI’s
Perform analysis around key business segments and support follow up on performance gaps and recommendation
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and maintaining organization
Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
Maintain confidentiality with business related information
Flexibility with working hours
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google
General knowledge of QuickBooks and or other ERP systems
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in accounting and or financial field
2+ years of experience in accounting/finance role
Beverage industry knowledge or general GCP knowledge preferred
Qualified individuals are detail-oriented, collaborative, growth-focused, and self-motivated.
