ROLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT I
PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant I role is responsible for learning and applying their technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision.

* Project manages client assignments ensuring overall success of each project.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Advises and coaches team members, provides consistent recognition and encouragement to team members, and sets an example by demonstrating high energy levels and enthusiasm.
* Performs a detailed review of the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness, and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames.
* Perform bookkeeping activities including recording income and expenses, bank and other account reconciliation, and adjusting journal entries.
* Preparation of payroll and payroll related tax deposits and returns including multi-state deposits and returns.
* Preparation of sales and use tax returns including multi-state and local returns.
* Preparation of compiled financial statements including compilation reports.
* Preparation of insurance carrier audits.
* Provide client support and training on accounting software packages.
* Serve as contact for client assignments.
* Conduct client interviews for individual income tax return preparation purposes and serve as signing preparer for those returns.
* Perform detailed review of staff prepared individual income tax returns and serve as signing preparer for those returns.
* Staff preparation of entity income tax returns for other signing preparers.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
* Current CPA licensure or achievement of CPA licensure within twelve months.
* Bachelor’s degree with additional credits minimum.
Master’s degree preferred.
* Developing technical knowledge regarding specific responsibilities.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
* Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
* Strong critical thinking skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A working knowledge of firm products and services.
* Strong technology skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and tax preparation software as well as standard office equipment.
* Minimum of two years public accounting experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,000.
00 - $78,000.
