The Financial Analyst position at Vortex Optics is a challenging and exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in finance and a passion for analytical work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Government Contract Budgeting and Analysis
Develop and maintain detailed budgets for government contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct financial analysis of government contract performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost efficiencies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for government contracts.
Forecasting and Modeling
Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to forecast revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
Analyze historical financial data to identify trends and provide insights for future planning.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with government contract regulations and reporting requirements.
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with government contracts.
Costing and Forecasting
Establish standard costing on new Vortex products, including yearly evaluation of inventory costs.
Facilitate effective decision-making by forecasting business, industry, and economic conditions.
Cash Flow Modeling
13-week cash flow forecast.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Financial Analyst role.
Superior quantitative and analytical skills with advanced Excel and financial systems capabilities.
Experience with SAP, PowerBI and Anaplan is a plus.
Strong project management skills; ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
High degree of initiative and motivation; willingness to assist other Vortex departments and customers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Anaplan, SAPbyDesign, PowerBI is desirable.
CSDR reporting experience is desirable but not required.
Government contracting experience is desirable but not required.
