General Description
The Street Crew Member - Summer/Seasonal, under direct supervision of the Street Foreman, perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the general construction, maintenance, and operation of the City's street and storm sewer systems.

Job Functions
Essential Functions
Perform a variety of manual labor tasks including patching streets, finishing concrete flatwork, constructing and cleaning gutters, culverts, catch basins, etc.
Operate equipment of the Public Works department including hand tools, brush truck, brush chipper.
Assist with installation traffic control signs and pavement markings on streets and parking areas.
Collect leaves, trim trees and chip brush.
Marginal Functions
Perform other related job duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in street and storm sewer maintenance and repair.
Abilities
Ability to safely operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
Ability to operate in a highly demanding physical environment for an entire day, to include prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance and timeliness.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to work well with other employees and the general public.
Education, Training and Experience
Education
High School diploma or an equivalent.
Experience
Previous experience in street maintenance or comparable construction work preferred.
