Our normal scope of work includes; site clearing, mass earth moving, site work, building excavation, basement excavation, and site utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer).
Although most of our projects are commercial, we also do some residential.
*Essential Job Functions:*
Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Able to skillfully operate heavy equipment as needed (Excavator, Dozer, Loader, etc.
)
· Able to direct and work with crew to keep the pipe installation running efficiently
· Be able to read, interpret, and execute plans and drawings for utilities and grading
· Coordinate with Foreman on current and future needs for staff, materials, etc.
· Knowledgeable of or know where to look for local codes and regulations for utility installation
· Always looking one step ahead and being prepared for what is coming up in the installation.
· Measure and cut pipe using a gas powered saw
· Assemble fittings before being sent into the excavation
· Strong knowledge of underground utility systems
· Ability to set up and use various measuring instruments used in the industry
· Ability to accurately calculate grades and other math related to Civil construction
· Assist the pipe layer as needed
· Operate TopCon GPS System or have the ability to learn this system
· Perform manual labor (may be required to lift in excess of 50 pounds)
· Grease equipment and perform fluid level checks
· Recognize/ Identify various soil classifications
· Willingness to work with Grading crew within company as needed
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment
· Able to perform and train essential job functions
*Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:*
· 2+ years heavy equipment experience
· Experience working with a grade laser
· Intermediate computer knowledge and efficiency along with construction math skills
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to follow through with solutions
· High level of self-motivation
· Attention to detail
· Valid driver’s license
· Be willing to operate all equipment and perform manual labor
· Maintain and promote a safe working environment
· Individual must be flexible, dependable, and effectively communicate with the team
