SUMMARY
Joins metal components together by performing the following job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Reads and understands American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols
Uses GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to weld weldments, tanks, and metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet
Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Assists with the hand layout of weldments
Uses fixtures, gauges, and jigs to manufacture welded parts to customer specifications
Assists with creating work instructions
Completes first piece, in process, and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures
Assists with pressure testing fuel tanks and hydro testing glycol tanks
Travels between plants and adapts to welding the product mix at each facility

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, plus 1-3 years of GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and/or GTAW experience, preferably in a job shop, ability to read and interpret American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols, and pressure or hydro test tanks; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employee must qualify within 90 days of hire in the weld processes he/she will be performing.
