20% per hour shift premium! $3,000 Sign on Bonus! 3-12 hour days! SUMMARY Joins metal components together by performing the following job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Reads and understands American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols Uses GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to weld weldments, tanks, and metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Assists with the hand layout of weldments Uses fixtures, gauges, and jigs to manufacture welded parts to customer specifications Assists with creating work instructions Completes first piece, in process, and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures Assists with pressure testing fuel tanks and hydro testing glycol tanks Travels between plants and adapts to welding the product mix at each facility COMPETENCIES vital to achieving success on the job: Customer Focus—Identifies customer expectations, sees issues from their point of view, and offers practical solutions Innovation—Generates new ideas and approaches to improve welding processes and products Priority Setting—Determines the interrelationships and relative importance of tasks and takes action accordingly Problem Solving—Gathers and analyzes information, explores and selects solutions, and evaluates results Results Oriented—Likes a challenge and is action orientated Technical Skills—Demonstrates the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential job duties and responsibilities to established standards.
Remains current regarding developments and trends in welding Time Management—Completes work in a timely manner EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED, plus 1-3 years of GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and/or GTAW experience, preferably in a job shop, ability to read and interpret American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols, and pressure or hydro test tanks; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employee must qualify within 90 days of hire in the weld processes he/she will be performing.
