Job Summary:
This position provides a full range of electrician duties on a wide variety of campus facilities and medium voltage distribution systems.
Primary responsibilities will be in service work, commercial electrical installations, Fire Alarm, Data, Motor Controls and Medium Voltage Distribution.
This position will be available for overtime and after hour calls as needed.
The position will work independently and with other electricians and trades.
Responsibilities: Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and life safety and electrical control systems to ensure adequate, safe, and operable institutional facilities.
5% Interprets blueprints and drawings and completes electrical calculations to assess and determine specifications and to calculate the materials and equipment required.
Discusses project plan with customer/client 5% Gathers materials, prepares work area, and maintains equipment and supplies needed for jobs 55% Completes skilled electrical installations and repairs according to established trade standards and applicable building and safety codes in various work environments 5% Reviews finished projects with client/customer.
Maintains records and reports of work status and completion according to established deadlines and expectations 5% Cleans work area upon completion of projects according to established guidelines and expectations 5% Collaborates with and assists contractors as needed 20% Electrical utility locates and operates/ maintains the electrical distribution system Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.

46 HOURLY Depending on Qualifications This has been identified as a Crafts Worker position.
Crafts Workers may elect an increased vacation allocation with a corresponding reeducation to the prevailing rate.
100 hours = $47.
94; 140 hours = $47.
22; 180 hours = $46.
