Job Posting: Engineering Technician
As an Engineering Technician you will use technical skills to assist Engineering, Quality and Operations with maintaining and improving manufacturing processes.
This position will assist in the design, implementation, maintenance and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
You will do this by:
Providing real-time technical support for production and test equipment
Participating in preventative maintenance activities
Troubleshooting quality and productivity issues
Identifying quality, cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
Ensuring projects are transferred to respective departments, including coordinating technical training, resolving startup issues, and providing technical documentation for process control and training purposes
Providing support regarding Manufacturing best practices to achieve critical success factors
Providing solutions to technical issues
Initiating corrections to work instructions & procedures
Supporting established documentation, communication, and escalation protocols
Establishing solutions to safety near misses

Required Qualifications:
Certificate or associate's degree in an engineering or technical field, industrial, electrical or mechanical engineering or 5+ years equivalent technical experience.
3-5 years of experience troubleshooting mechanical / electronic equipment
General knowledge of steel fabrication, stamping, laser cutting, machining, grinding, welding, heat treating, robotic equipment, servo controls and data management
Ability to read and understand 2D drawings
Open-minded, flexible and able to adapt and accept new ideas quickly
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to root cause technical issues
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with co-workers at all levels in numerous functions
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Robotic programming (ABB)
PLC programming
CNC programming
Design and drafting skills (Solidworks)
Experience with Robot Studio
Experience with Epicor ERP
Experience with Lockout/Tagout and other machine operation safety standards
Experience with in-process monitoring and controls
Experience with Human Machine Interfaces, Databases or Structured Query Language
Experience in the design, selection and implementation of manufacturing systems
Physical | Visual Demands:
Weight amount that would need to be lifted, pushed or pulled: Up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally may have to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to Sit, Stand, Walk Talk/Hear, Use Hands, Climb/Balance, Stoop/Kneel/Croouch or Crawl, Reach with Hands and Arms
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)

Regular travel to each business unit (1 mile away from each other) and other occasional travel
