Job Description JOB OVERVIEW: As a press or lamination operator with Amcor, you will be given the opportunity to continue to develop your skills further on the job.
Press operators will operate the Rotogravure 10 color press in a safe and controlled manner that will ensure the safety of others and quality of products being made.
Lamination operators will operator the various laminators for running jobs efficiently and safely while maintaining quality products for our customers.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday (10:00pm-6:00am) 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday (2:00pm-10:00pm) COMPENSATION: $19-$25/hr (based on skillset) BENEFITS: - Up to $4,000 retention AND referral bonuses available - Benefits Day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision! - Retirement: 401(k) match up to 8% - Training & Education: Tuition Reimbursement WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS A PRESS OPERATOR: Setup and run Rotogravure press to meet production requirements Prepare press for jobs by having trolleys, ink and coating ready to go into press Observe press while its running to make sure inks are full, viscosity is accurate, coatings are mixed and substrates are webbed up in the press Set and monitor color, register and repeat lengths according to customer specifications Distinguish quality colors while running job and setup Troubleshoot web handling and printing problems Setup and run adhesive laminator as needed to meet quality and production requirements Follow procedures and process specifications Load and unload cylinders Inspect quality and identify and correct defects Troubleshoot equipment and production issues Follow documentation procedures and ensure paperwork is complete Ensure quality of products produced while job is running Follow all safety rules and procedures Communicate effectively with other team members and departments Assist in training other personnel WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS A LAMINATION OPERATOR: Set up and run the adhesive laminator Load and operate parts washing machine Prepare for jobs by having trolleys and adhesive equipment ready for the laminator Load, unload, and retrieve cylinders Load rolls of raw material onto the machine Remove converted materials Load and unload new cylinders Ensure quality of products produced while job is running Follow all safety rules and procedures WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU: Prior experience in printing, web handling, and/or manufacturing is required Accurate measurement skills; knowledge of metric conversation Basic mechanical ability Solid communication and teamwork skills Willing and able to work a flexible schedule of up to 12-hour shifts Willing and able to operate fork lifts and hand jacks as needed WHAT WE VALUE: Passion for Safety and following Safety Procedures Passion for Quality and meeting Customer Specifications Must have a positive attitude that promotes the Amcor High Performance Culture Fully aligned with the Amcor Core Values - Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Results and Out Performance Initiative – identifying what needs to be done and doing it before being asked to or required by the situation A team player with good communications skills and the ability to work independently Our Expectations We expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
