Repack Supervisor Job Description

, a leading supplier of high quality private brand food products is seeking a 1st Shift Repack Supervisor to organize and direct repack operations on their assigned shift.
Reporting to our Material Manager, the Repack Supervisor will ensure the operation meets its daily production schedule while ensuring product standards meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures proper training of all employees regarding Job Duties, GMPs, Safety, Quality, Materials Consumption and other company procedures.
Plans, organizes and directs repack operations on assigned shift to ensure the operation meets its daily production schedule while ensuring product standards meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
Maintains and trains employees on procedures for proper configuration, palletizing, wrapping, labeling, and loading of all finished goods for transfer to Distribution warehouses.
Responsible for creating output, consumption and transfers of finished goods in ERP system.
Maintains a high on-floor presence engaging employees by utilizing the “Just Foods” digital production system.
Acts as a liaison between departments, maintaining open lines of communication between production, quality, maintenance and supply chain groups.
Mentors and develops staff as well as interviewing and training new staff.
Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce production costs and improve material flow.
Maintains a daily focus on material loss.
Reports actions/results focused on overall reduction.
Identifies cost drivers and proactively adjusts headcount and expenses to achieve budget commitments.
Leads the achievement of a zero injury workplace by executing the facilities safety program.
Assists in the investigation, documentation and resolution of safety Incidents, employee concerns and situations requiring disciplinary action.
Responsible for setting schedules and approving employee’s time in the payroll system.
Perform other duties as assigned by Material Manager
Daily visits to the plan to participate in meetings, Gemba, and other projects that will be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Safety first mindset
Experience managing employees in a food production environment
Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Must demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability
Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
Team motivator with a high energy level and diligent work ethic
Detail-oriented
Good computer skills and experience using an ERP system accurately
Good written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Windows
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
2-3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing management or supervisory role
Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred but not required
Bilingual – English / Spanish strongly preferred
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
