Introduction The Wisconsin Lottery, a division of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue(DOR), is seeking a motivated sales professional with excellent communication skills to join our team.
Our Field Marketing Representatives (FMRs) manage a wide variety of sales functions associated with developing and servicing lottery retail accounts.
They travel to customer locations daily and visit all regional retailer locations (e.
g.
, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc.
) on an assigned basis, using a state fleet vehicle.
FMRs also establish sales goals and objectives and provide the retailer a business plan and the assistance to meet those goals for all lottery product categories.
This position is home based.
This position is being filled in the following territory: Dodge, Fond du Lac, Milwaukee, Washington, and Waukesha Counties.
Lottery requests at the time of hire that their FMR employees live/reside in a county located within their assigned territory (such as one of the counties listed above), for a range of reasons, including ensuring the safety of the state fleet vehicle, the security of the Lottery products they are transporting, etc.

Position Summary This is a senior level Field Marketing Representative (FMR) that will develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate regional sales and marketing strategies and program plans for all assigned retailer accounts (e.
g.
, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc.
) as well as recruit and train new retailers.
This position will be responsible for implementing Lottery sales objectives as established by the Retailer Relations Bureau Director.
In addition, FMRs will also give presentations and conduct training for existing retailers as needed.
This position will independently visit all regional retailer locations (approximately 180 locations) on an assigned basis, using a state fleet vehicle whenever possible, from once a week to once a quarter depending on the location's sales level and the need to improve sales performance.
Establishing and achieving those sales and objectives and providing the retailer a business plan and the information and assistance to meet those goals for all product categories is essential to the position's success.
This position will perform analysis, determine issues, develop problem resolution and strategies to resolve field service problems and issues related to retailers and players, particularly in the areas of sales and marketing, and will personally address issues and problems during on-site visits.
Knowledge of Lottery policies and procedures and communicating those policies and procedures to retailers, as well as the placement of Point of Sale (POS) materials, and securing Lottery retailer events within their regional service area and reviewing, understanding and merchandising, instant ticket vending machines are all necessary tasks for the position.
This position is responsible for communicating pertinent information from and about retailers to all affected parties, including supervisors, other field staff and any others as necessary.
Senior level positions will begin assuming additional responsibilities that could include some, working up to the majority, of the following: Manage small chain(s) or group of retailers having one owner; assist with new employee recruitment and hiring; mentor new FMRs; assist in training new FMRs; fill in for FMR vacancies, serve on Division/DOR committees; provide secondary retailer training; train retailers on Gemini vending machine operations, present to staff at FMR meetings/sell in; provide new employee training/orientation (ride along); test new software and/or equipment; develop and create new efficiencies for retail and the field; attend and assist with trade shows and other lottery events; and assist with special events in retail locations.

Salary Information Starting salary will be between $29.
85 and $43.
46 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits.

A twelve-month probationary period is required.

• Experience with product marketing and/or merchandising (e.

, utilizing point of sale materials and display techniques, etc.

• Monitoring or evaluating sales goals/quotas and/or having compensation based on meeting sales goals.
• Experience with basic Microsoft computer programs (e.
g.
, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
) Well-qualified candidates will also have: • Outside field sales (outside of the office) experience selling products and/or services direct to retail.
• Experience setting planograms and/or securing space within a retail environment.
• Developing or revising sales goals/quotas/sales plan to increase revenue (e.

, grow new business, etc.
).
• Experience creating new/ innovative ways to reposition product to increase product movement.
• Experience in convenience store and/or grocery stores positioning or upgrading product displays.
