org Subject: WOCCU_ Business Development Consultant _2023 Background The World Council of Credit Unions (“WOCCU”) is the global trade association and development organization for the world’s credit unions and financial cooperatives.
WOCCU’s financial inclusion programs reach rural and remote areas through its unparalleled global footprint - a network of over 86,000 institutions owned by 375 million members in 118 countries.
Also under the World Council umbrella, is the Worldwide Foundation of Credit Unions, a 501- (c)(3) that raises private philanthropic donations among credit union supporters and individuals to advance education and learning across the global credit union movement and to provide seed capital for pilot projects with the potential to advance scalable solutions.
The World Council engages in advocacy, development and education to champion and grow credit unions and cooperative finance worldwide, under the belief that all people should have access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable financial services.
Location Remote Position Summary The Business Development Consultant will contribute to the dynamic and growing team of professionals to expand World Council’s work in financial services innovation, and to respond to business development opportunities pursued by WOCCU.
Potential Tasks Serve as the proposal manager on bids for institutional and private donors Contribute to business development capture efforts including conducting background research and adapting design methodologies to respond to the anticipated requirements of the bids Draft relevant technical proposal sections including technical approach, management, corporate capabilities, etc.
Coordinate and sync cost and technical proposal submissions Conduct research to identify potential business opportunities, technology partners, and funding sources including gathering country background and technical information required for project proposal preparation, concept papers, pitch decks and white papers Develop external-facing corporate capabilities statements and learning briefs Deliverables During the contractual period, WOCCU will request scopes of work that outline deliverables and level of effort (LOE).
Period of Performance The agreement will be eligible for up to 12 months, with the potential for renewal.
WOCCU will seek to issue contracts by August 1, 2023.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Master’s degree in international affairs, economics, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of study and experience At least 5 years of experience working in international development firm and the proven track record in leading bids and proposal coordination for institutional donors including USAID, other multilateral, and private donors (e.
g.
foundations or family office) Familiarity with USAID rules & regulations, trends, and operations Familiarity with financial services industry, economic growth/financial inclusion, and familiarity with credit unions or financial cooperatives preferred Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal communication, collaboration and partnering skills Selection Criteria Selection will be made on a best-value basis.
The number of points assigned to each criterion represents its weight in the evaluation process.
