Job Summary: About the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement (DDEEA) Under the direction of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion, Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer (DVCDI/VPCDO), the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA/Division) supports the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as it works to create a diverse, inclusive, and excellent learning and work environment for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners at the university.
The DDEEA's priorities are to increase access for underrepresented minorities in STEM; eliminate the achievement gap between majority and underrepresented students; recruit and retain more diverse students, faculty and staff; prepare all of our students to thrive personally and professionally in a world that is diverse, global, and interconnected; and enhance the campus climate to ensure every member of the UW community knows they belong.
The DDEEA is comprised of administrative, education, scholarship, and service programs whose work overlaps with the core values of community, inclusion, organizational excellence, transparency, accountability, and social justice.
The DDEEA collaborates, leads, and consults in efforts to seed new initiatives and coordinate numerous institutional efforts to support, guide, and promote these priorities.
Overview The Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA), the central convener and leader for campus-wide diversity and inclusion outcomes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator.
The Outreach Program Coordinator, under the supervision of the Executive Director of Communications will spearhead the DDEEA's community engagement initiatives, helping the division and university to forge robust partnerships amongst campus partners and between the university and local community.
The Outreach Program Coordinator will develop and execute comprehensive outreach strategies aligned with organizational goals, identifying key stakeholders, while ensuring access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
The Outreach Program Coordinator will be responsible for helping organize and staff outreach events, workshops, and activities that address community needs, utilizing innovative approaches to maximize impact and engagement.
Key responsibilities for this position include: - Communicates institutional and divisional policy and procedures to external stakeholders - Ensures policy and procedure compliance of internal staff at community outreach events - Reviews and processes sponsorship and partnership requests from both internal and external stakeholders - Works to recruit and connect community and alumni volunteers to serve as mentors, speakers, professional resources, etc.
for student scholarship and service programs - Communicates with external partners and community organizers regarding their sponsorship and support needs - Actively seeks out new partnership opportunities - Develop and maintain a comprehensive database comprising of current community partners and prospective collaborators to facilitate efficient outreach efforts - Works with senior leadership, to determine the level of support to be offered in community partnerships - Communicates divisional progress with internal and external stakeholders Coordinates with external partners to ensure a DDEEA presence at events, securing resources, and distribution of marketing advertisements and event materials - Coordinates internal distribution of event tickets and attendance - Coordinates the procurement of marketing materials for external event tabling - Coordinates with the marketing team to secure advertisement requirements and digital media with the appropriate technical specifications for external partnerships - Organize and oversee staffing logistics for external event tabling, ensuring adequate coverage and support to represent the organization effectively during outreach activities - Fosters and maintains relationships with external partners in keeping with the mission of the DDEEA - Monitors and communicates changes and progress to internal leadership and external stakeholders Responsibilities: Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing.
Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community.
Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.

Education: Preferred Bachelor's Degree Qualifications: Required: - 1 -2 years of experience in a community relations role - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines - Ability to work independently with precision and attention to detail - Exceptional organizational skills - Ability to foster relationships with diverse stakeholders - Exceptional interpersonal skills both verbally and via correspondence Preferred: - Established relationships within the community - Experience working in higher education - Project management experience - Experience working with non-profit organizations Work Type: Full Time: 100% This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $55,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The starting salary for a candidate who needs to learn the responsibilities of the position and is not yet performing the full scope of the position is between $55,000 and $60,000.
The starting salary for an experienced candidate who can fulfill most job responsibilities independently is between $60,000 and $65,000.
Actual pay is determined at hire and is based on experience and qualifications.
