Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Marine Sales and Marketing will be an analytical thinker with proven leadership experience.
Accountable for delivering measurable results that achieves and exceeds revenue and margin targets, this position will be capable of contributing meaningful insight to the sales and marketing functions and play an integral role in the overall development of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct and coordinate company Marine market segment sales and marketing functions.
Develop the annual sales and marketing plan and the strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to achieve overall Company business plan goals and objectives.
Develop strategies and tactics for increasing market share within existing accounts and markets, while expanding into new selected verticals.
Develop and implement annual business plans and manage to monthly, quarterly, and annual expense and revenue budgets.
Provide leadership, direction and management to the Marine Sales and Marketing Team in a manner that ensures exceptional service to all stakeholders and that produces market differentiation and competitive advantage.
Responsible for organizing, motivating, and maintaining an adequate relationship with government/marine customers.
Assists and coordinates related functions such as engineering applications, compliance with government specifications and contracts, promotion, staffing, training, distribution, and service.
Establish clear sales metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus; creates a companywide marketing reporting function that can track, measure, and analyze performance.
Collaborate with strategic partners and clients to research market needs and identify possible new product solutions.
Establish and maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry.
Develop a formidable team with strong leadership skills.
Coach, mentor and develop existing professionals.
Proficient in financial analysis and establishing sales and marketing budget and action plan.
Firsthand experience strategizing and negotiating complex sales deals.

Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.

The Vice President of Marine Sales and Marketing is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

Industry Experience –five to ten years of sales and marketing leadership role with active work history participation in industry related organizations or professional societies.
Technical aptitude related to product specifications and valve industry standards.
Individual must possess an understanding of government contracts, funding, and lobbying practices, as well as customer facing presentations related to strategy, products, applications, and advanced technologies.
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
