Job Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing event setup for the UW Conferences & Events, predominantly located at the Memorial Union.
The Event Production Supervisor will hire, train, and manage full-time and student staff to ensure spaces are clean and ready for events, and assist staff on the floor as necessary.
Additionally, the Event Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and payroll management.
Responsibilities: Develops catering and event experiences, provides leadership to adjust to and exceed customer expectations, and provides strategic guidance.
Oversees operations including supervising and developing staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department goals and policy.
20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.
0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees 30% Supervises and manages re-servable indoor and outdoor spaces utilizing the Enterprise Event management System (EMS) software program 10% Assists in planning, development, and initiation of policies and procedures for operations and service delivery for catering operations 5% Assists with the development and implementation of menu items, services, and presentations to meet customer needs and industry standards 20% Oversees daily operations and serves as the primary contact for day of events and serves as primary lead where event presence is needed 15% Supervise, including hiring, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining and/or approving hours for the Setup team's student staff.
