- Extra long hoses and adapter fittings ($30 new) - Mostly full bag of salt for recharging water softener resin Don't bother with small cheap amazon showerhead filters that claim to fix water quality, none of them have enough filter media/resin beads to make any meaningful change in the water.
This setup actually removes calcium/magnesium from the water which can be measured with water hardness test strips.
When the resin beads become saturated (about once a month for us), they can be re-charged with a saltwater solution.
