Description
The Sauk Prairie Middle School Learning Community is seeking a student-centered educational professional with a growth mindset to fill a full-time, special education teaching position starting in August 2024.
This specialist will work as a member of a special education team.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history that includes the following experiences:
Use of data to inform programming goals and evaluate student progress
Solid background in conducting functional behavioral analysis
Familiar with the Multileveled Systems of Support within a school setting
Creating and monitoring behavior intervention plans
Knowledge and implementation of trauma-informed instructional practices
Meaningful inclusion
A strong desire to work with middle school students
Caseloads are closely monitored district-wide and special education teachers are provided with one release day per month to address tasks specific to this work.
Additionally, Sauk Prairie School District recently passed a highly competitive compensation plan and a best-in-region benefit package.
District Description: The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie.
They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River.
Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district.
The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams.
The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles).
The district serves 2,800 students and is comprised of six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, a middle school of 600 students, and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.

Two days of new teacher in-service on 8/19 & 8/20 School begins on September 3.
