Description
Sauk Prairie School District is seeking equity-focused, student-centered applicants who demonstrate a growth mindset for the full time Vision Teacher for students in two different buildings in our district to start the 2024-25 school year.
The Vision Teacher will be involved in the following activities:
* Data-based decision making for planning, delivery, and evaluation of programming for students with a visual impairment
* Advocacy and leadership to enable each student to be a healthy and successful learner
* Adhering to professional standards that are respectful, confidential, individualized, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant
* Staying current with professional learning to maintain and develop competency reflecting evidence-based best practice
* Promote a positive and welcoming school environment to all students and families
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education from an accredited institution and a certificate in vision impaired instruction through an accredited institution.
License Required: WI DPI certifications required: Must have or be eligible for a Wisconsin DPI certification in Vision Impairment (1825).
Preference will be given to candidates with experience.

District Description:
Sauk Prairie School district is the educational home to approximately 2,800 students.
Sauk City and Prairie du Sac are two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie.
They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River.
Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district.
The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams.
The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles).
The district serves almost 2,900 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school, middle school and four elementary schools.
