Summary
The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
Teachers must understand children?s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.
The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Childcare is more than just watching kids.
We teach them skills they need to go off to school.
We are the ones they spend most of their days with during the week, teaching them social skills, how to put together a puzzle, how to cut, what fingerpainting is, and so much more! We see those 1st steps, the potty-training successes, and the pride on the child`s face when they learn a new skill like zipping their coat.
We also are responsible for communicating with families and following State Licensing rules.
This job is not for the faint of heart.
Some days we may ask ourselves why I work in Childcare, other days we can`t wait to get back to our classroom and see our kiddos.
