ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Responsible for leading safe, effective, and motivating group fitness classes for older adults.
2.
Create a fun, energetic, and inviting atmosphere for his or her class, providing modifications and progressions to meet the needs of individuals within the class.
3.
The primary responsibilities of the instructor are as follows: prepare as needed for each class format that he or she teaches (i.
e.
playlists, choreography, progressions and regressions, getting to know participants, etc.
), and provide open and friendly communication with residents and coworkers.
4.
Orientate residents and at times staff to the fitness equipment and develop programs to fit their goals and interests.
5.
Provide 1:1 personal training and exercise offerings.
6.
Organization of new resident files, including screenings, phone calls, Physician Authorization’s to physicians and complete assessments.
7.
Provide unrivaled customer service by meeting and exceeding our resident's expectations for quality, service and unsurpassed training value.
8.
Function as member of the interdisciplinary team to review falls, potential risks and offer ideas or suggestions.
9.
Assist in specialized class offerings as needed such as Active Care.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to adapt programming to meet a diverse population of abilities.
6.
Ability to perform heavy lifting duties which include the equivalency of lifting up to and over 25 lbs.
, repeated bending and stooping, prolonged walking and standing, and frequent pushing and pulling movements.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
1.
Bachelor’s Degree in a health/fitness related field preferred.
2.
Current Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM or NSCA required
3.
Experience teaching group exercise classes preferred.
4.
1-3 years experience as a personal fitness trainer preferred
5.
Additional certifications in group exercise offerings a plus (such as yoga, Tai Chi, etc)
