Barre Adult Fitness Instructor
MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider.
We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting.
Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.
Program Description:
Deliver high-quality, community-based adult barre classes.
The primary responsibility of the instructor is to provide a safe, challenging, and fun environment for all MSCR participants.
Job Description & Duties:
Teach Barre classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness level within our Adult Fitness program.
Program Dates: Fall 2024 .
Work Location: MSCR West
Hours/week: 1-3 hours per week.
Work hours: Evenings and/or Saturday mornings.
Application Deadline: Open until filled.
Payrate: 25.

Minimum Qualifications:
1 or more years of teaching Barre and/or Pilates fitness classes.
CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain in 45 days).
Knowledge of MSCR programs and mission.
Keep certifications current and remain in good standing.
Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Ability to visually cue and demonstrate exercises.
Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current Fitness or Group Fitness – related certification.
Previous experience in delivering fitness classes in a group format with a diversity of backgrounds and goals.
Excellent interpersonal and motivation skills.
