2024 Summer - Olson - Elementary Teacher (4K-4) Madison Metropolitan School District Summer Semester Job Description General Information MMSD is hiring Summer Semester staff to provide high quality, targeted instruction for our students who need it the most beyond the regular school year.
Position Title K-4th Grade Elementary Education Teacher Reports to Summer Semester Principal Compensation $40/hour Purpose of Position Summer Semester is a learning support for students who meet criteria and will use summer learning to stay on track for graduation to become college, career and community ready.
Summer Semester staff are hired to provide high quality, targeted instruction for our students who need it the most beyond the regular school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Successful experience working in a diverse population.
Successful experience in collaborative planning with other professionals to develop and carry out instruction.
Shares a commitment to excellence and equity for all students.
Knowledge of and experience teaching Bridges Curriculum and Bridges Intervention Knowledge of and experience teaching a standards-based ELA curriculum Creates and maintains a positive and emotionally safe learning environment Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum and instruction supporting students with a range of abilities in an inclusive setting.
Administer a BOS and EOS screener to all students on your roster.
Demonstrated ability to administer assessments, analyze and use the data to inform instruction.
Understands unique family characteristics, and finds ways to engage families as full partners in their children’s education Create and send a welcome letter to the families on your roster prior to the start of summer programming and provide weekly updates to families on their child’s progress.
Report a mid and end of summer progress report to families.
Qualifications Teaching certification that covers grade level.
Desired Qualifications LETRS training Bilingual: Spanish Summer Program Dates Elementary School: June 17 – July 26 (no school June 19, July 4 & 5) Work Hours 7:45 - 12:45 (5 hours/day) Monday-Friday Required Dates of Professional Learning June 11, 12, 13: required PD for 5 hours/day June 14: All Summer Staff Day at your assigned site (5 hours) The Madison Metropolitan School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
