Dane County Department of Land and Water Resources has a vacancy for a Limited Term Employee Inclusion Specialist.
Limited Term Employees (LTEs) are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.

DEFINITION Under the direct supervision of the Engagement and Visitor Services Manager and general supervision from the Land & Water Education Coordinator, this position develops, promotes, and ensures the implementation of recreation programming that is inclusive, adaptive, and appropriate for individuals with a variety of disabilities.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Assess, develop, and implement individualized accommodation and program modification plans that will assure maximum participation and success for individuals with challenges and barriers in outdoor and environmental education programs.
Assist with the daily schedule of programs in order to assure a quality experience.
Assist with special events, field trips, summer camp, learn to programs, and Get Outside! in order to assure a safe and inclusive program.
Assist with programming and inclusivity assessments.
Communicate with parents, advocates and coordinate with agencies to convey essential information and/or participant progress.
Prepare necessary participant reports and assessments for inclusion and program modifications.
Provide one-on-one assistance for program participants requesting an ADA Modification.
Mentor education attendants and other engagement and visitor services staff on inclusive practices and implementation.
Assist with other programs as needed to assure sufficient staff to participant ratios.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Special Requirements Education, Training and Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Must also possess any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to one (1) year in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or relevant field.
Certifications/Licenses: Must be willing to obtain the following certifications/ licenses within the first 12 months: Wisconsin Fishing License, CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and Lifeguard Certification.
Special Requirements: Applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and reliable personal transportation, or equivalent.
Final candidate(s) will be subject to passing a thorough driving record background check.
Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Background Check Statement: Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job's responsibilities.
