POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Fitness Director, the Fitness Center Attendant will provide premier member service and safe, quality orientations and direction in the Fitness Center with an emphasis on relationship building and member retention.
In addition this person will be responsible for cleaning and general upkeep of the Fitness Center.
These responsibilities will be accomplished in accordance with the mission, strategic plan, goals and all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Dane County, Inc.
and the YUSA Best Practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets and guides Fitness Center Members
Responds to the needs of members by providing direction and answering questions.
Increases member retention by providing personalized member experiences and building positive relationships with and among members, staff, volunteers and/or guests.
Creates a supportive and uplifting community environment.
Cleans the Fitness Center when not engaged with members; includes, but not limited to organizing and wiping down equipment, vacuuming, and ensuring all towels and cleaning supplies are available, and dispensers are filled.
Monitors the Fitness Center usage for safe behaviors, and ensures that youth in the room have met the appropriate prerequisites.
? Ensures the safety of all members and guests.
? Communicates clearly and professionally with members, guests, supervisor, and co-workers as needed.
? Respects the confidentiality of all members, volunteers and staff at all times.
? Report any concerns to the supervisor.
? Arrives on time for scheduled shifts and appointments with a positive attitude.
? Attends all mandatory staff meetings and all required YMCA staff training.
Follows all policies and procedures as set forth in the YMCA of Dane County Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Must be at least 18 years of age.
? High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
? Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
? Ability to work independently with general supervision, as well as part of a team.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
? Regularly exposed to dust, dirt, and cleaning products.
? Must be able to communicate clearly and project voice
? The ability to perform all physical aspects of the position is required.
? Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to supervise program activities in the Fitness Center.
