Adult Dance Instructor
MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider.
We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting.
Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.
Program Description:
MSCR's Adult Arts & Enrichment program is seeking new dance instructors to teach adults (18+) in a variety of different styles at all of the MSCR locations.
Examples include, but not limited to: African dance, Ballroom, Belly dance, East Coast Swing, Folk, Hip hop & Funk, Jazz, and Latin.
Couples dancing as well as individual dance forms are of high interest and this program is hoping to schedule classes for spring/summer 2024.
Job Description & Duties:
Teach weekly beginner and intermediate adult dance classes in a recreational setting to adults for 8-12 week sessions.
Start Date: 4/2/2024
Work Location:
MSCR East, MSCR Central, and MSCR West
Hours/week: 2 -6 hours/week
Work hours: Evenings (6pm - 9pm)

Payrate: 18.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have dance training and previous experience teaching adults in a similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Energetic, welcoming personality.
Ability to teach a variety of skill levels.
