Position Title: Head Football Coach
Department: Memorial High School Athletics
Reports to: Memorial High School Athletic Director

Purpose of Position: Seeking a high quality and engaging Head Football Coach to create and provide leadership for a high performing football program.
Candidates must be able to positively motivate student-athletes to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork.
Successful candidates will possess a passion to work with/educate student-athletes, have a sincere interest in young people, and demonstrate a willingness to become an active contributor to the school culture, as well as be willing to work to establish the youth program as a partner for the high school program.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruit, Select, and Supervise the Football coaching staff - including Assistant and JV coaches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee training of Football players in conjunction with the other coaches.
Develop training plans for Football players in conjunction with the other coaches.
Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games/events as directed by the Athletic Director.
Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
Attend and coach at all practices.
Attend and coach at all games.
Assist other coaches in monitoring team members’ practice attendance, school attendance, game attendance, behavior, and grades
Lead other coaches in enforcing team policies.
Responsible for providing student-athletes feedback about their performance related to their disposition, behavior, and team skills.
Manage program budget and organize fundraising efforts for the Football program
Coordinate competition and practice schedules with the Athletic Director.
Coordinate off-season training and conditioning for the football program
Successful annual completion of the required WIAA Video and Rules Exam for football

Qualifications:
Knowledge of instructional techniques for Football.
Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
If no teaching license, successful completion of an approved coach’s education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching .
Demonstrated ability to successfully coach in a diverse population.
Ability to initiate and maintain open communication with staff, student-athletes, families.
Competitive experience in Football at the high school level.
Previous coaching experience with preference for those with prior Football experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to design and implement a developmentally appropriate program for students in Football.
Evidence of knowledge of WIAA eligibility standards and willingness to reinforce good sportsmanship and compliance with athletic codes from members of the East Football program.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and supervise athletic teams with respect to schedules, equipment, student eligibility, and safety.
Preferred: Valid teaching license
Preferred: College playing/coaching experience
Preferred: Demonstrated ability to successfully implement football systems in a high school setting
Length of Work:
WIAA 2024-25 Fall Sports Season
Working Conditions:
Will be expected to work evenings and weekends.
May also be expected to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and matches.
