EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Demonstrate the movements and fundamental skills associated with a sport or other outdoor recreation activity such as baseball, basketball, canoeing, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, etc.
in a way that is age group appropriateAssist with the set-up and take down of the activity area and the proper storage of all equipment associated with the activityCommunicate the basic techniques, rules, and proper use of equipment needed for conducting the specific activityFoster an understanding and appreciation of the different levels of maturity and skills between the program participants even with children of the same ageAssist the Supervisor/Coordinator with recruiting coachesInteract with program participants, families, and coaches in a positive and enthusiastic wayAssist the Supervisor/Coordinator with resolving potential conflicts between coaches, parents, program participants, and other staff members in a courteous mannerAssist the Supervisor in ensuring the safety and well being of program participants, coaches, and staffWork independently as well as in a team atmosphereAttend staff meetings, orientation, and training sessions as requiredAssist with program registration and revenue collection along as neededContact the Supervisor, Recreation Coordinator or Department Director in the case of an accident/injury to a program participant, coach, staff member, or other person(s) related to the program and activate EMS as neededReport any vandalism, graffiti, or other problems observed at a program facilityAdvise the Supervisor, Recreation Coordinator or Department Director of any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s), or any activity generally considered to be unwholesome or illegalOther related tasks as assigned
