Learning Center Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES * Support all educational activities, including The First Tee/i-Ready Learning curriculum, homework and extending learning opportunities under direction of the Site Supervisor.
* One-on-one and group tutoring-emphasis on math and reading.
* Partner with Site Supervisor to monitor youths weekly/monthly progress.
* Partner with Site Supervisor to develop incentive plans to keep youth motivated and on track with their goals.
* Promote and model First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits to participants.
* Assist in planning and implementing special projects and seasonal events.
* Some paperwork and administrative duties required, as well as, attending meetings and training as necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in education OR current education student teacher.
* Certified teacher in elementary or middle OR equivalent experience tutoring/teaching youth.
* Knowledge/understanding of youth interest and activities.
* Ability to relate to youth of various ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds.
* Preferred knowledge of basic computer skills and i-Ready Learning Reading/Math programs * Work well with others i.
e.
co-workers, volunteers, community/school partners * Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
COMMITMENT * Regular, long-term commitment preferred (Sept-May) * Hours: 10-15/week typically 2pm-6pm M,T,W &, Th depending on site * _3pm-6pm_ Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.
00 - $25.
