Position Summary:
This position has primary responsibility to facilitate day to day operations within the Student Services department at the middle school level.
Position Duties:
Essential Job Functions:
1.
Maintains student cumulative and special education files.
Processes grades and progress reports at appropriate times throughout the year based on student record data.
2.
Facilitates the middle school master schedule system programming and specific student schedule modifications as necessary in conjunction with Administration and Student Services staff members.
3.
Generates student file and transcript copies for incoming and outgoing record transfer requests.
4.
Answer and manage incoming communication via phone and email; providing back up contact for all school Student Services staff and other office staff.
5.
Creates and maintains student handbook.
Edits and arranges layout, arranges for annual copies.
6.
Assigns and monitors hallway lockers for all students within the school.
7.
Assists with reports and review of records to respond to data requests, state reporting needs and special projects such as 8th Grade Graduation and other student recognition programs.
Qualifications:
1.
Education: Equivalent to Associate degree.
2.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in an Administrative Assistant position.
3.
Special Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Experience working with database programs similar to the District’s financial and student management systems.
4.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required.

Essential Physical / Mental Requirements:
This position is performed indoors.
1.
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to 6 hours in an eight-hour day.
2.
Must be able to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds without assistance in an indoor setting.
3.
Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance.
4.
Must be able to move throughout the building and from building to building.
5.
Must be able to reach in all directions and bend/stoop to store and retrieve files, use telephone, calculator, computer and other office equipment.
6.
Must have dexterity and hand/eye coordination necessary to operate computer keyboard, hand tools, test equipment and other office equipment such as fax machine, printers, etc.
7.
Hearing activity requires the ability to participate in numerous conversations throughout the day, both in person and over the telephone.
8.
Must be able to complete job duties in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm.
9.
Must have the ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and attention to detail.

Pay: $20.
