Instructional Paraprofessional - Title 1 Reading

74 per hour – Category B – Level 1 *JOB DESCRIPTION:* Title I Reading Support Paraprofessional will work under the direct supervision of the Title I Reading Teacher and Director of Curriculum & Instruction.
Duties required to perform this position include: · Duties may include monitoring supplies, providing reading materials, meeting with the Title I teacher to coordinate instruction · Must feel comfortable working with technology and the desire to keep up with newest technology; · Troubleshooting solutions when any computer, printer, or equipment issues arise.
*QUALIFICATONS:* This position requires the candidate to have a high school diploma in addition to meeting “highly qualified” standards of oneof the following: · Two years or more of study at an institute of higher education (completion of 48 semester hours or equivalent of trimester hours), or · Associate or higher degree, or · Passing a test to demonstrate the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics.
Qualified candidates should possess: * A passion for working with elementary aged students; * A positive attitude that will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere; * Strong communication skills; * Excellent attendance history in previous employment.
