Overview:
The Advanced Learning Resource Teacher serves as a part of the district’s Advanced Learning Resource team.
Under the direction of the Director of Instruction, this position is responsible for serving one or more of the district’s schools as a resource to faculty and students, this position is expected to serve grades K - 2.
The Advanced Learning Resource Teacher will promote and support appropriate challenge for all students in inclusive classroom environments.
Responsibilities:
Actively work to identify unmet advanced learning needs by partnering with families, teachers, and students and support strategies and/or develop formal plans to meet unmet advanced learning needs.
Serve as an Advance Learning Resource Teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through multiple means of representation, engagement, and assessment supporting reciprocal learning strategies.
Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
Collaborate with colleagues to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
Raises awareness about advanced learning opportunities in and out of school.
Attend work regularly.

Experience and Training
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required.
Successful teaching experience.
Strong skills in differentiated instruction.
Experience working with students from a variety of cultural, racial, socioeconomic and linguistic backgrounds as well as students from a variety of family structures preferred.
License Requirement
Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Regular Education (1777) or Elementary/Middle Level Education (1088) license required.
Middle Childhood – Early Adolescence or;
Appropriate low and high grade levels
Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Gifted and Talented License (1013) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and their families.
