0 FTE Teacher at Monona Grove Liberal Arts Charter School for the 21st Century (MG21) Upper Campus in Social Studies or Math.
Position begins approximately August 19, 2024.
Overview: Monona Grove Liberal Arts Charter School for the 21st Century (MG21) Upper Campus is a multiage (grades 9-12) school of ~50 students.
Our mission is to provide a student centered educational community for diverse learners, and is designed to provide students the skills they need to walk their path in life.
Our school is relationship based, and committed to restorative practices, equity, social justice, service and stewardship.
We combine teacher-led, thematically integrated, liberal arts curriculum and student-led project-based learning (PBL) to provide our students with strong academic skills.
Responsibilities: Write, develop and implement thematically integrated liberal arts curriculum.
Advise and mentor high school students.
Provide leadership, support and development of Social Studies curriculum and program OR a Mathematics curriculum and program.
Co-manage school related tasks (e.
g.
scheduling, restorative justice, testing, college career readiness, community building) as part of a shared leadership school.
(“Shared leadership” means a leadership approach in which educators have autonomy to design, create, and make decisions in areas impacting student success.
) Network within the community to develop resources and contacts for PBL projects.
Design and implement multiple assessments and provide continuous feedback to guide all students to improve their academic competence and self-esteem as a learner.
Coplan with colleagues to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Develop, facilitate and evaluate student led project based activities.
Collaborate and learn with colleagues; be receptive to new ideas; take appropriate risks to implement best practices and demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the school and students.
Continually expand personal professional growth and development via conferences, education and collaboration.
Bring an equity lens to the work in the school and create a space for conversations about equity.
Facilitate opportunities to engage and empower students, staff, and families in creating a positive school culture and climate.

Experience working with diverse learners using culturally responsive practices.
Uses proactive strategies to build and maintain strong mentor-student relationships and positive classroom and community environments.
Experience implementing restorative justice in school settings is preferred.
Proven ability and experience working with non-traditional learners and students identified as “at-risk.
” Understanding of adolescent development.
Ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.
Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
License Requirements: Valid WI DPI teaching license through Grade 12 required.
Social Studies OR Math license preferred.
Alternative Education (1952) preferred.
