This position begins as soon as possible and the position is expected to last for the duration of the 2023-24 school year.
Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified Building Substitute Teacher serving grades 4K - 5 at Winnequah School.
This position's work schedule follows the district teacher calendar and works in a variety of classrooms based on building needs.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an Elementary Teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
Monitor students’ academic and behavioral progress (through data collection and analysis) to guide instructional decisions.
Monitor and address IEP goals as necessary.
Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through multiple means of representation, engagement, and assessment supporting reciprocal learning strategies.
Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
Collaborate with colleagues, including special education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
Attend work regularly.

Experience in teaching various content areas preferred.
Experience with differentiating instruction preferred.
Experience with collaborative, student-centered teams.
Familiar with Response to Instruction (RtI) processes, including progress monitoring and using data to guide instruction.
Knowledge of and experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS).
Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices.
Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.
Ability to work positively and productively as an active member of a vibrant teaching team.
License Requirement:
Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Regular Education (1777) or Elementary/Middle Level Education (1088), or ability to obtain license upon hire required
Early Childhood-Middle Childhood or;
Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence or;
Kindergarten
Appropriate low and high grade levels
OR
Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Long Term Substitute license or ability to obtain license upon hire required.
OR
Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Short Term Substitute license or ability to obtain license upon hire required.
