Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of the Information School (iSchool), teach one or more of the following courses in an online format during the 2023-24 summer semester: LIS 613: User Experience Design 3 May 20 - August 24, 2024 LIS 614 User Experience Design Capstone May 20 - August 24, 2024 LIS 640 Topics in Library and Information Studies: Linked Data May 27 - June 16, 2024 Principal duties for all courses: Duties include adaption of a pre-prepared syllabus in consultation with iSchool staff, adaption of a prepared set of asynchronous lectures, creation of new materials in consultation with iSchool staff, fielding and grading of prepared assignments and examinations, holding synchronous office hours and consulting with students via email, Skype, or by other means.
Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction.
Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading.
Serves as an instructor of record.

Education: LIS 613 & 614: Minimum of a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Studies, Design, Computer Science or closely related field required.
LIS 640: Minimum of a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies or related field with significant experience in serving diverse audiences required.
Qualifications: LIS 613 User Experience Design 3 & LIS 614 User Experience Design Capstone Experience working or teaching in the field of user experience design required.
Knowledge of user experience design presentation skills, professional portfolios, UX field networking venues and career development required.
Previous teaching experience and experience in an online learning environment preferred.
LIS 640 Topics in Library and Information Studies: Linked Data Knowledge of the fundamentals of linked data ("Semantic Web") technologies.
Including experience with linked data graphs, reading and writing various linked data syntaxes (N-Triples, Turtle, RDF/XML, microdata), understanding and using common linked data vocabularies, and SPARQL querying.
Work Type: Full or Part Time: 32.
5% - 100% It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal, 3 month appointment.
