Job Summary: The College of Letters & Science (L&S) seeks a collaborative, empathetic, and innovative Teaching, Learning, and Technology Specialist to join the L&S Instructional Design Collaborative (IDC) team.
We play a key role in advancing L&S's priorities for student-centered teaching excellence.
- Support Programming and Initiatives: Collaboratively develop and facilitate initiatives that promote student-centered and evidence-based teaching practices across the College.
- Consult with Instructors: Provide hands-on support to instructional staff on technologies, pedagogies, and instructional designs that align with L&S priorities for student-centered teaching and learning.
- Engage Educators: Collaboratively participate in educational engagement efforts to creatively share timely, relevant, and actionable practices that shape an inclusive UW L&S learning environment.
The L&S IDC supports the instructional priorities of the UW-Madison College of Letters & Science and contributes to a world-class learning experience for all students.

Responsibilities: Collaborates with faculty, staff, and executive leadership of an academic program, department, division, or institution to develop instructional programs and curricula.
Applies learning theory and instructional design models in the consultation, selection, and application of educational methodologies and technologies to promote active learning, refine critical thinking, and increase student success.
15% Designs, develops, organizes, maintains, and consults on instructional materials, activities, curricula, and assessment resources in accordance with current pedagogical practices, cognitive/learning science, and design tools and methods 10% Researches, designs, and/or acquires learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning 10% Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms 10% Collects, organizes, interprets, and disseminates data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness 15% Designs, develops, or recommends multimedia learning materials.
Facilitates communications with multimedia service providers to ensure instructional needs are met 20% Designs, develops, and delivers faculty development and engagement programs and activities 20% Contributes to Teaching & Learning Administration's educational outreach efforts to promote inclusive pedagogy and effective teaching & learning practice Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.

Education: Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent work experience Qualifications: Required: 1.
Flexibility and adaptability in navigating changing priorities.

Either 4 semesters of classroom teaching experience at the college level or 2 years of experience supporting instructional improvement efforts in higher education (i.
e.
faculty development, instructional design, creating teaching support resources).

Fluency with evidence-based teaching practices and learning technologies for higher education.

Ability to creatively communicate, inform, and engage an instructor audience through diverse multimedia, such as podcasts, videos, graphics, and writing.
Work Type: Full Time: 100% This position requires some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The typical starting salary for this position is $50,000 - $71,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The full salary range for this position is $50,000 - $92,320.

Additional Information: The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
