As an Instructional Technology Support Specialist with MERIT, you will join a group of consultants who work together to advance high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning.
We partner with instructors to develop blended and online courses, produce educational media, integrate technology tools, and more.
This position will provide technical support for instructional technologies used by the School of Education.
This individual would serve as initial point of contact for School instructors and staff seeking technical support for the University's Learning Management System - currently, Instructure Canvas.
This individual may also be called to assist other members of MERIT's Teaching and Learning Team with, but not limited to, Instructional Design, Videography, Web Conferencing, and AV Support.
In addition, this role assists with reviews and updates of existing instructional materials with attention to improving compliance with ADA accessibility standards.
This position would also assist with developing internal staff training materials and courses.
Responsibilities: Assists with or supports the design, development, and enhancement of instructional activities, programs, and curricula.
Utilizes effective educational methodologies and technologies to meet organizational and learner needs.
5% Assists with the design and development of engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online 10% Completes initial edits, reviews, and updates of existing instructional materials 5% Contributes to researching, designing, and/or acquiring learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning 20% Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning mediums 20% Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms 15% Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies 5% Assists with the design and development of multimedia learning materials 5% Provides support for faculty development and engagement programs and activities 5% Assists with consultation and providing answers questions regarding AV equipment and functionality to individuals and groups based on set material and standards 5% Assists with technologies to capture events, presentations, performances, or educational activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor settings 5% Participates in departmental service, campus collaboration, and professional development.
