Job Summary: Teach CHICLA 201 "Introduction to Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies" in-person at the UW-Madison main campus from 6/27/2024-8/4/2024.
The course is the gateway to the Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies Certificate and Major and fulfills general education requirements.
The summer section of 201 will be part of the Summer Collegiate Experience, a high-impact experience that allows recently admitted first-year students to take classes at UW-Madison before the semester begins while living on campus and developing critical thinking and other academic skills.

Duties include preparing syllabi and modules in the Canvas online course management system, preparing course materials; presenting virtual lectures as appropriate, and facilitating online discussions and other interactive learning activities.
Duties also include preparing and administering assignments, grading student work, and holding virtual office hours.
Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction.
Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading.
Serves as an instructor of record.

5% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal, 2 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding Salary: Minimum $47,727 SUMMER SESSION Depending on Qualifications Additional Information: The course will count for core requirements in the Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies Certificate and Major.
There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more course(s) listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department.
This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
