Job Summary: The Assistant Registrar for Student Services serves as a deputy and advisor to the Associate Registrar of Student Services and is a self-assured, congenial, and productive member of the Registrar's Leadership Team.
This position reports to the Associate Registrar of Student Services.
As an innovative and contributing member of the Leadership Team, the incumbent will assist in the establishment of the strategic short- and long-term direction of the office that enables the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Office of the Registrar to become an institutional resource with acknowledged credibility as a highly productive and collaborative partner with campus constituencies as well as a national model known for creativity, innovation, and service.
Working independently to manage the Enrollment and Residence for Tuition Purposes teams within the Student Services unit within the Office of the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar will collaborate with the Associate Registrar of Student Services to oversee the strategic direction and operational objectives of the Student Services area.
Functions and services of the Student Services area include: provision of point-of-contact customer service functions of the Office of the Registrar in meeting the needs of students, staff, faculty and alumni; management of enrollment, residency determination, credit evaluation and student records processes within the Student Information System (SIS); collaboration, communications and coordination with other units within the Office of the Registrar, academic advisors, academic deans and school/college representatives to ensure the accurate and timely processing and maintenance of updates in SIS; implementation and maintenance of the systems that integrate with SIS to support unit functions (e.
g.
Perceptive Content, Residency application, and vendor solutions supporting credit evaluation and articulation, transcripts, and degree conferral); interpretation, application and enforcement of UW-Madison, Universities of Wisconsin, state and federal policy, especially related to enrollment, grading, credit evaluation, residency for tuition purposes and student records.
The Assistant Registrar will also serve as the Product Owner of the Course Search & Enroll application used by students for course discovery, academic degree planning, degree audit reporting, and enrollment.
The incumbent must demonstrate a passion and commitment for exploring and implementing strategies that contribute to the sustained development of Office of the Registrar staff.
Successful candidates will also be able to build rapport and establish and maintain professional relationships with UW, Universities of Wisconsin, and legislative stakeholders, to continually enhance the student experience and support the teaching and learning mission of the institution.

Responsibilities: Assesses prospective students' academic preparation, contributes to the development of curricular governance, maintains student records, supervises staff, and coordinates enrollment and registration activities for one or more schools/colleges to ensure students receive quality academic services.
18% Manages the development and coordination of unit registration and advising services 18% Leads the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to promote student academic success in alignment with the strategic plan 18% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.

Education: Required Bachelor's Degree Qualifications: - Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in higher education required, preferably with responsibility in enrollment or residence for tuition purposes services.

Work Type: Full Time: 100% This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
Required to be on-site approximately 20% to provide in-person support for on-site Student Services staff.
