Job Summary:
UW-Madison's General Library System seeks creative, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates for the English Humanities Librarian and Literary Collections Curator, a crucial position that supports literature, communication arts, and related disciplines on an active and vibrant campus.
In addition to overseeing collection development, research services, instruction, and outreach activities in English humanities including literature, journalism, media, film, and theater, the English Humanities Librarian and Literary Collections Curator is responsible for curating several special collections related to literature.
Reporting to the Director of Special Collections and Archives, this position is part of a division that includes library staff working in the arts, humanities, archives, and special collections.

Responsibilities: Provides a wide variety of the most advanced professional library services which may include teaching, learning, public services, circulation, assessment, reference, selection, and outreach to support creative exploration, intellectual growth, and scholarly pursuits.
Serves as a resource to others and regularly solves complex problems based on advanced knowledge and expertise.
Initiates process improvements, policy changes, and new initiatives to contribute towards continual improvement in services and operations.
15% Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services 5% Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with donors, collectors, vendors, and professional colleagues 10% Obtains materials, resolves issues, and answers questions that are complex and highly specialized in nature 15% Designs, develops, delivers, and assesses instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons 10% Provides specialized services utilizing a high level of expertise on a broad range of disciplines or in a designated discipline area 10% Oversees day-to-day functions of one or more library operations or services 5% Serves as a resource to other librarians and staff outside of their unit on a regular basis 10% Initiates and solicits input to modify policies, procedures, and assessment tools to improve workflows and/or user experiences 10% Serves on committees to advance librarianship at the campus, local, and/or state and national levels 10% Develops, curates, and manages collections Tasks: Serves as library liaison to English humanities departments and provides research services, instruction, and outreach activities.

Within the Department of Special Collections, provides highly specialized public services including research support, instruction, and outreach, which includes exhibits and social media.
Participates in external fundraising and donor relations.
