Job Summary:
This position develops and oversees the strategic recruitment plan for UW Madison School of Medicine & Public Health's (UW SMPH) MD program.
Recruitment efforts focus on a diverse range of mission-aligned applicant groups (e.
g.
, WI residents; exceptionally qualified applicants; rural/urban underserved, first-generation, veteran, and low-SES applicants) and will stem from the institution's focus educating physicians who will alleviate population health disparities and provide excellent patient care.
Internally, this position will coordinate recruitment efforts across UW SMPH units and develop collaborative relationships with other stakeholder offices and units (e.
g.
, Office of Multicultural Affairs and other health professions programs).
Externally, the incumbent will cultivate relationships across UW-System and other feeder undergraduate institutions to identify and attract outstanding applicants.
They will represent UW SMPH to prospective students and other recruitment stakeholders with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, diverse student body.
Responsibilities for this position are broad in scope, and the individual must have the ability to problem-solve, work collaboratively, communicate effectively and professionally, and be facile working with technology and technology-mediated communication (e.
g.
, social media).
This position has extensive interaction with prospective students as well as faculty and staff from various backgrounds and institutions which requires a demonstrated ability to maintain service-oriented relationships with these diverse groups.
Responsibilities: Develops and implements recruitment plans, organizes events, recruits and trains staff and volunteers, evaluates admissions applications, and represents the institution to prospective graduate program students with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, diverse student body.
Supervises staff and oversees unit program(s).
5% Counsels prospective and admitted graduate students on educational planning and career opportunities 5% Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications for admission to a graduate program according to established policies and procedures 20% Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution 5% Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement 10% Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals 10% Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences 15% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission 10% Other, shared admissions operations and responsibilities (e.

Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $60,350 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications Additional Information: The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
